1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Sanpo mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Sanpo is a mobile application that helps users discover local places such as cafes, restaurants, bars, bookstores, parks, and museums. Users can save places, rate them, add personal notes, and create exploration plans.

3. User Accounts

To use Sanpo, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App.

4. User Content

You may add notes, ratings, and other content to the App ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a license to use, store, and display it as necessary to provide the service.

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, or offensive
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains malware or harmful code
  • Violates the privacy of others
  • Is spam or unsolicited advertising

5. Place Information

Place information displayed in the App is sourced from Google Places API and may include user-contributed data. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of this information. Business hours, locations, and other details may change without notice. Always verify information directly with the establishment before visiting.

6. Location Services

The App uses location services to show you nearby places. You can control location permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work properly without location access. We process location data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
  • Use automated means to access the App without our permission
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the App
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
  • Impersonate any person or entity

8. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Sanpo and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The Sanpo name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of Sanpo.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Google Places API, Supabase, and PostHog. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SANPO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sanpo and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of your use of the App, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of another.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
